Presentation

Demi Kleiboer stood at the front of the lecture hall, her heart pounding with excitement and a touch of nervousness. She was about to give a presentation to a room full of eager students from the HvA (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) and UvA (University of Amsterdam). The topic of her presentation was her journey as a marketing manager in the events industry, and she was determined to make it both informative and inspiring.

Demi began her presentation with a captivating story that drew the students in. She talked about her early days as a marketing intern at a small event management company in Amsterdam. She described how she had been assigned to promote a local music festival, and her initial lack of experience in the field.

“I had no idea what I was doing,” Demi admitted with a chuckle. “But I was passionate about events and determined to learn. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.”

She continued to narrate her story, sharing the challenges she faced and the lessons she learned along the way. Demi spoke about the long hours, tight budgets, and the stress that often came with the events industry. She described how she had to think on her feet, come up with creative solutions, and build strong relationships with clients and partners.

“As a marketing manager in the events industry,” she said, “you have to be adaptable and always ready for the unexpected. But it’s also incredibly rewarding.”

Demi shared stories of successful campaigns she had led, like the time she turned a rain-soaked outdoor concert into a memorable experience by providing ponchos to the audience and embracing the rain as part of the show.

The students in the room were hanging on to her every word, inspired by her determination and passion for her work. They could see the ups and downs of her journey and how she had turned challenges into opportunities.

As Demi concluded her presentation, she left the students with a powerful message: “No matter where you start or what obstacles you face, if you’re passionate about events and marketing, you can make it in this industry. It’s about creativity, determination, and a willingness to learn.”

The applause from the students was thunderous as Demi stepped away from the podium, feeling a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. She had not only shared her story but had also ignited a spark of inspiration in the hearts of the future event marketers from HvA and UvA.
